Personal identification numbers need to be kept secret because failure to do so may result is losses. It is mandatory that you keep your PIN safe from other people who might be malicious and steal your data.

To keep your PIN safe, one has to memorise them. Avoid writing them on your card. Make sure you disguise the PIN numbers in a way not known by other people.

In case of ATM cards, when using them, avoid places where there are many people. When using such cards, look around to see those who are closer, or over your shoulders surfing. Keep distance when using the PIN.

Additionally, keep your PIN safe by taking photocopy backups, front and back of the document such that if they get lost, or if you forget the PIN, you can refer them back in your house.

It is also important to review the statements given by companies for the safety of your PIN. This prevents unnecessary activities that lead to compromise.
