Fire Safety and Security Regulations

The security regulations in your building should take into account fire safety and should ensure that you will have a safe escape route should anything like a fire occur. Fire safety is an integral part of health and safety/ building security regulations and it is not something that should be taken lightly.

For starters, you should ensure that you have a very good fire safety system in place. This should include multiple fire alarms that are tested on a regular basis. Make sure you keep records of these tests so that you can prove your fire security is up to scratch. If you have a business, you can also consider having your alarms linked up to the fire brigade to ensure that they arrive with you swiftly.

You should also ensure that you have robust systems in place should a fire occur, such as access hatches and automatic opening vents. This will make sure people have good escape routes and smoke is being directed out of the building.
